Buying cryptocurrency in the cashier

The cashier may offer a Buy Crypto option, operated by a third-party fiat-to-crypto gateway.

Who you are dealing with

The purchase is a transaction between you and that gateway, under the gateway's own terms, fees and verification requirements. Those are shown to you before you proceed.

We are not a party to the purchase. We do not set the gateway's pricing, control whether it is available in your country, or decide whether it approves you. If the gateway declines a purchase or asks you for documents, that is its own process and we cannot override it.

What happens to the coins

Cryptocurrency you buy through the gateway is delivered to your deposit address on the site, and from that point it is credited exactly like any other crypto deposit — see Cryptocurrency deposits for confirmations, fees and how the credited amount is worked out.

Because gateway and network fees both come out along the way, the amount credited to your balance will be less than the amount of currency you spent. If you are buying in order to qualify for a promotion, allow for that and send comfortably above the threshold.
